2010 update
Halloween 1977: Stoler and friend John Devlin (hidden inside) build an R2-D2 out of a refrigerator box and an umbrella, but Stoler's mother won't let him dye his hair blond.
February 2009: Stoler and Beth attend Geekfest, a/k/a Wondercon, in San Francisco -- is Beth not the cutest Jedi ever? (With reusable containers instead of lightsabers.)
But the character with whom STOLER really identifies, and the movie which he'd rather see...
...is, of course, INDIANA JONES in RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK
Somewhere in a distant and dangerous corner of the globe, a striking figure casts a distinctive shadow...
Suddenly, the striking figure strikes!
Yes, it's that larger-than-life scholar and adventurer, Massachusetts Stoler.
He's heading up into the mountains to visit someone...
Eventually, he finds the map room, and the ark, and all that.
And he gets the girl to stop striking him and start liking him!
2010 Update |
The actual flying boat used in filming "Raiders", at the Oakland Aviation Museum! (Taken in 2007.)
"Dr. Jones, once again we see there is nothing you can possess which I cannot take from you."
2012 Update: The Theatrical Rerelease of the Original "Raiders" |
(yes, we sho saw it when it first came out still call it that, not "Indiana Jones and the Raiders...", just as we call the 1977 movie "Star Wars", not "Episode IV" or "A New Hope".)
